Hazel
Chief Executive Officer in Charge of Treats
Lastly, the most important member of our team is Hazel. Hazel was adopted by her mom, Dr. Schnoor, on Thanksgiving 2020 and has come to work with her mom every day since. She is an integral member of our team and provides free hugs, kisses, and snuggles whenever we need them.
Hazel’s favorite activities include snoring, taking walks with her mom, chasing squirrels, and destroying her squeaker toys. When not at work, you’ll find Hazel lounging on a sofa or hanging with her kitty housemates.
Kristina
Veterinary Assistant
Kristina is one of our veterinary assistants, and they joined our team in June 2021. Kristina brings with them years of experience as a dog bather! Kristina is the proud parent to two dogs, Wrigley and Whiley, and a bearded dragon named Friday.
Kristina enjoys learning about art and gardening and you can tell they have an artistic flair by their ever-changing hair color!
Selena
Veterinary Assistant
Selena has been with Mid North Animal Hospital since February 2021 as one of our veterinary assistants, and never have we met a person so passionate about animals and their well-being! Selena loves every patient who comes through our doors, and she excels at making our patients feel comfortable and relaxed while in our care.
She has an all-black kitty cat named Emmee that she loves spending time with and when not at work or at home, Selena is taking aerial fitness classes, hiking, reading, and adding to her plant collection.
Clay
Veterinary Assistant/Technician
Clay joined our team of veterinary assistants in January 2020 and brought with them years of veterinary experience! They are the proud father to Twinkie, a grumpy orange cat who is the reason Clay got into the veterinary world, and every year, Clay and their wife throw Twinkie a birthday party! When not at work, Clay enjoys going to concerts, playing boardgames, and riding their bicycle year-round.
Maria
Veterinary Technician
Maria joined our front staff team as a receptionist and veterinary assistant in April 2016, and now she is one of our veterinary technicians! Maria loves learning all aspects of her job, including the different medications and surgeries that pets can receive. She brings with her worldly experience from living overseas and also offers pet-sitting in her free time.
She loves spending time with and walking the dogs that she sits for, as well as showcasing her impressive art skills with her drawings, paintings, and encaustics. Maria’s pets, Turbo, Mitsou, and Weu Weu are fan favorites at the office. You may even see Turbo in one of his outfits on our Instagram from time to time!
Aubrey
Veterinary Technician
Aubrey started in June 2015 at Mid North Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant and is now one of our veterinary technicians. She graduated from UIC, where she received a degree in Biological Sciences.
She plans on being a veterinarian and is completing her veterinary technician education! Her favorite part of her job is the ever-increasing knowledge she is receiving with her hands-on experience with us. She has three cats: K.P., Domino, and Jubilee. When not at work, you’ll find Aubrey making pottery, hanging out with her friends and family, going to the zoo, watching Cutthroat Kitchen, knitting, and learning!
Carma
Client Services Representative
Carma joined Mid North Animal Hospital in July 2024 as a client care coordinator. They have two rescue cats at home, Powdered Sugar and Butternut Squash. With previous history in animal shelters, Carma brings in a passion and love for all pets that walk through the Mid North door.
Carma spends their free time creating fantasy stories, either by writing or by running DnD campaigns for their friends.
Johana
Client Services Representative
Johana joined our front desk team in September 2023. She loves seeing all of our patients’ cute and furry faces while also learning new facts about animal health and care.
She is obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and is planning on becoming a veterinary technician in the future. When not at work, Johana enjoys coloring for relaxation and taking walks to take photographs of nature.
Payton
Client Services Representative
Payton has been with us since September 2023 as a client services representative. She has her BS in Biology from DePaul University and is the proud parent to one cat and three dogs!
She loves meeting the clients and patients of Mid North, and when not at work, you’ll find Payton reading, going to the gym, and fishkeeping.
Aide
Client Services Representative
Aide joined our staff in the beginning of 2022 as a client care coordinator. She has a young husky at home named Pancho! Aide brings with her skills from being a florist and enjoys decorating the hospital for the holidays.
She is currently working towards her bachelors degree and is interested in becoming a veterinarian in the future!
Miriam
Client Services Representative
Miriam was one of our receptionists and hospital manager from 2007-2022 before taking a break to work in the non-profit sector. She is so happy to be back at our front desk part-time, and the clients and pets agree! Miriam graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University in 2011.
Miriam’s favorite part of the job is comforting scared or nervous pets and helping them feel safe at the vet. When not at Mid North, you’ll find her working at an art & gift gallery, cuddling her cats, and enjoying the restaurants and bars the city has to offer with her boyfriend.
Sean
Practice Manager
Sean worked at Mid North as a veterinary technician and hospital manager from 2008-2021 before taking a year off. He is now back as the Practice Manager and we couldn’t be more excited!
Sean has always loved animals. He currently has 3 cats and 3 dogs. When not at work, Sean loves to continue learning and going to the gym. He can often be spotted running in forest preserves.
Dr. Angela Egan
Veterinarian
Dr. Angela Egan joined Mid North Animal Hospital in 2019. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her doctorate from the University of Illinois. She completed her internship in Small Animal Medicine & Surgery at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital and enjoys oncology and emergency medicine.
She loves client education and working with our clients to provide their pets with the best medical care possible. When not at the hospital, Dr. Egan spends her time with her family, knitting, and exploring different neighborhoods. Her furry family includes Effie and Skeeter, the Shih Tzu twins, Emily, a Bichon/Poodle, and Frankie, a one-eyed Bouvier Des Flan!
Dr. Laura Schnoor
Veterinarian
Dr. Laura Schnoor has been a staple of Mid North Animal Hospital since 1991, when she graduated from the University of Illinois. She is interested in soft tissue surgery and loves helping dogs and cats! Outside of work, Dr. Schnoor enjoys gardening, cooking (and boy is she talented!), traveling, reading, and anything associated with a warm, sunny day.
She also loves spending time with her rescued Boxer, Hazel, and their three cats. You might catch a peek at Hazel one day as she loves coming to work with her mom and helps keep an eye on all of our patients!
